Meet the Team

Debbie Basden
Debbie Basden is a management consultant with a career spanning nearly 30 years who has worked with individuals, private sector, not for profit and parastatal organisations in 8 countries including Kenya, Uganda, Tanzania, Rwanda, Ethiopia and Cameroon. Her experiential training presentations cover sales excellence and strategic planning; personal empowerment and development; and how to recruit and appraise staff.
She is recognized for her professional approach to bring about paradigm shifts to improve process efficiency, team building and organizational change.
Debbie welcomes the opportunity to make a positive difference in people’s careers and lives. In addition to fee paying Customers, she also provides pro bono coaching and mentoring to young Kenyans she has come into contact with through her work assignments.
Debbie has a Master’s degree from Durham University in the UK, started her career with Anglo American in South Africa, returned to work in the financial services sector in the UK for 10 years before moving to make her home in Nairobi in 1997.

Victor Esendi
Victor Esendi has over 6 years’ experience in markets development, development research, development communication and knowledge sharing consulting in East Africa. He has the advantage of applying excellent sociological, writing and demographic research skills in the fields of agriculture, markets, microfinance, health, migration and development.
Mr. Esendi has undertaken both long term and short-term assignments, managing large research and evaluation projects mainly as a team leader, supervising multidisciplinary teams of researchers and providing technical support for evaluation design, evidence based policy development and knowledge management.
Mr. Esendi has experience in the design and implementation of development and health evaluations. In addition to assisting Dagger Consultants with a staff satisfaction survey using SPSS, he has worked in the region with other organisations including; Practical Action Consulting, Consortium on Financial Systems and Poverty (CFSP/MIT), Columbia University, Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), Academy for Educational Development (AED), Program for Appropriate Technology in Health (PATH), PSI-Kenya, Population Council, Swisscontact, Christian Aid, Fairtrade Africa, Christian Blind Mission (CBM) and French SCAC. Victor has been involved in developing contract-winning proposals as an individual and as part of team.
Mr. Esendi holds a Master of Arts Degree in Population Studies from University of Nairobi and a Bachelors Degree in Sociology from Maseno University.

Peter Kenneth Munene
Peter Kenneth Munene is a web/mobile developer with a background in Software Engineering; Bachelor's degree taken at Kenyatta University. He has a steadily growing experience with various technologies among them PHP, MYSQL, JavaScript, HTML and CSS , Java and the Android Platform, C , Objective C and the iOS platform. He is a jovial developer who loves challenges.
Peter also developed the Dagger Consultants website following the successful launch of another site for a related organization.
His over 4 years experience comprises a user experience perspective during development. A quick Google search for "Peter Kenneth Munene" will yield multiple links to more information about him. New challenges are always welcome!

Tom Okore
Tom Okore is a management consultant with over ten years experience in various industries that includes private sector, NGOs and government bodies. He has worked in Kenya, Uganda, Tanzania, Uganda, Rwanda, Ethiopia, Somalia, Ghana and Nigeria assisting with strategic planning, development and implementation, performance management, business analysis and portfolio management.
With Dagger Consultants Tom has been involved with local assignments to train staff on the Balanced ScoreCard, process improvement initiatives and teambuilding training.
Tom holds an MBA in strategic management and management of information systems from State University of Minnesota-St Cloud (USA).

Kamal Shah
Kamal is a Business Transformation professional focussing on Finance Transformation (including Shared Services and Outsourcing), Business Analysis, Strategic Performance Management, Organisation Risk Management, Governance, Business Continuity, Project and Change Management. He has over 20 years experience gained through working within industry and consulting globally.
Kamal has specialist skills in analysing operating environment, developing strategic business cases for change, business process/ operations analysis and redesign, establishing governance structures change and benefits management including delivery as well as stakeholder management and communication.
He has worked in both the public and private sectors as well as across countries in different sectors including FMCG, Telecommunications, Energy and Utilities, Oil & Gas as well as Professional Services.
He holds Masters Degrees in Finance, Economics and Trade from the University of Cambridge and City University. He is also a trustee for a charity that seeks to develop sustainable skills in impoverished communities.

Diana Gatumwa Justus
Diana Gatumwa Justus is another returnee consultant having recently resigned from her role as Campus Principal with Africa International College in Eldoret where she was a part-time HR Lecturer with Egerton and Kisii Universities.
Prior to this she was a Sales Team Leader for a health solutions organisation in Nairobi and an HR Programme Officer with a Nairobi based NGO. During 2012 Diana assisted Dagger Consultants with a remuneration review for CIC Insurance and has provided consulting services to design job descriptions and contracts.
She has also recently completed her MBA in HR Management and is a member of the Institute of Human Resource Management.
